Rakaposhi is situated in Nagar valley acing Hunza. It is considered as one of the most amazing pyramids in the world. The 7788m peak has a special offer for its climbers that it can be climbed from all sides.
Dominating the horizon, it is continuously visible from the Karakoram Highway. The scene from Hunza is incredible and beyond description. Its perpetual glacier adds the thrill of delight that belongs to the beauty of both Hunza and Nager.
This peak was first explored by Martin Conway in 1892, though he could not find a way to summit Rakapshi on 25th June 1958, a joint expedition member from England and Pakistan reached the summit. On 2nd August 1979, the north spur was climbed by Eiho Ohtani and Matsushi Yamashita of Waseda University Japan.
