Fairy Meadows is a lush green plateau at the height of 3300m located in the region of Gilgit Baltistan in the Northern Areas of Pakistan. Fairy Meadows offering a breath taking view of the majestic Nanga Parbat Mountain. The lush green meadows and the alpine forests lie at the base of Nanga Parbat in the Himalayan mountain range in Northern Areas of Pakistan. Fairy Meadows peaceful and relaxing place to enjoy the mountain atmosphere and hospitality of the locals. Fairy Meadows is the part of the legend that Fairies have their heaven on this lush green Meadows. The Austrian climber Herman Buhl who made the first ascent of Nanga Parbat in 1953 named it Fairy Meadows due to its amazing scenery. Natural exploration at Fairy Meadows and hike to Nanga Parbat base camp is a great experience.
From Fairy Meadows it offers magnificent view of the North face of the Nanga Parbat. There are several short hikes on this plateau including the full day excursion up to the Nanga Parbat base camp. It is very easy hike through the forest till then the edge of the plateau call Beyal camp.The trek from Beyal camp to Nanga Parbat base camp is little difficult along the Raikot glacier.
Fairy Meadows is about 540 km drive through Karakoram Highway from Islamabad capital of Pakistan to Raikot Bridge. From Raikot Bridge where local mountain Jeeps will take you up to the Tatto village it is one and half hour exciting drive from Raikot Bridge to the last village of Tatto. Crossing through the most impressive view of Karakoram Highway and River Indus. On arrival at Tatto village it starts trekking on very easy and simple route to Fairy Meadows. It is a great experience to have overnight camping or staying in the traditionally built wood Huts.
